Myself & my blog
Hello!!
I'm Anna, in the vibrant heart of my thirties, originally from the beautiful landscapes of Austria.
My professional journey began with studying biology, a field that has always captivated me. My passion for the marine world led me to further my education across the globe, from the sunny shores of Portugal and Spain to the historic universities of Belgium, with brief yet enriching stints in Brazil and Sweden. These experiences shaped me into the marine biologist I am today, and enriched me with both languages skills and cultural awareness.
My adventures took an exciting turn when I ventured to Egypt's mesmerizing Red Sea. Here, amidst the breathtaking corals, I honed my scuba diving skills, diving deep into the wonders of marine life.
Though I initially embarked on a career in Academia, life had different plans—plans I look forward to sharing in my upcoming blog posts ;)
Currently, I find myself in a period of transformation, enriching my expertise with a focus on ecotoxicology and considering a deeper dive into sustainability — fields that resonate with both my educational background and environmental enthusiasm.
Outside the realms of my professional life, I'm an avid dancer, losing myself in the rhythms of Salsa and Forró. I cherish meeting people from diverse cultures, engaging in enriching conversations that broaden our horizons and viewpoints.
For me, true relaxation is found in the embrace of nature, whether I'm immersed in water or surrounded by it. As a swimmer, diver, or snorkeler, I feel a profound sense of belonging—a feeling akin to being 'home.'

My journey is one of constant exploration, not just in the external world, but also within the realms of the mind and spirit. Join me as we dive deep into the wonders of our world and the complexities of the human experience.
Picture this: oceans brimming with life, teeming with mysteries yet to be unraveled, and coastlines whispering tales of natural splendor. Now, imagine these scenes with the stark reality of our current world—a world where the convenience of plastic has created an inconvenient truth. Every year, millions of tons of plastic find their way into these very oceans, disrupting marine ecosystems, and altering the delicate balance of life.
But this isn't just a story of despair. It's a call to action, an invitation to join a movement of change-makers who believe in a future where sustainability isn't just a buzzword, but a way of life. Through our exploration of the environment and our passion for sustainability, we'll uncover the power of individual and collective actions, debunk myths, and ignite discussions that matter.
In this blog, you will find more than facts and figures. You'll find personal stories, facts and figures about random topics circulating in my mind, innovative solutions, and practical ways to reduce our plastic footprint. It's time to redefine our bond with the Earth, to turn the tides against environmental apathy, and to weave a new narrative—one where each of us plays a vital role in preserving the planet for generations to come.
So, let's embark on this journey of enlightenment and responsibility, as we dive deep into the heart of sustainability and environmental care. Together, we can make a difference—one step, one choice, one less piece of plastic at a time.
